Capitol Hill’s newest development proposal calls for fewer pews and more bedrooms. Montana-based BlueLine Development sent plans to Denver last month calling for a 58-unit income-restricted apartment complex that would replace a sizable chunk of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church at Ninth Avenue and Emerson Street. BlueLine did not respond to a request for comment. The church, which has built housing in the past, declined to comment. Local firm Shopworks Architecture drew up the plans. Our Savior’s Lutheran has been around since 1881, and at 915 E. Ninth Ave. for about a century. It built an addition in the early 1960s…

PORTRUSH, Northern Ireland — Wyndham Clark said Sunday he feels “terrible” about damaging a locker at century-old Oakmont during the U.S. Open and that he wants to make good with the Pittsburgh-area country club and longtime U.S. Open site. Club president John Lynch sent Oakmont members a letter last week saying Clark would not be allowed back on the property until he paid for repairs and got counseling for his anger. Media were not allowed in the locker room, but a photo was leaked. “I feel terrible with what happened. I’m doing anything I can to try to remedy the…

Gradually, this has become Nik Bonitto’s home. Just like Fort Lauderdale, where he sprouted enough potential in high school to once tell off Hall of Famer Jason Taylor. Just like Norman, where he bulked a thin frame enough to dominate the edge at Oklahoma. He has gotten better at football every single year of his career since he was a teenager. He’s matured along with it, now entering Year 4 with the Broncos. And this offseason, seeing the examples set by lifer Garett Bolles and others, Bonitto decided to host his first youth football camp in Denver. Why not, he…

In June, Sean Payton delivered an emphatic message to reporters regarding a sardine-packed running back room: Don’t count. “Don’t try to figure out the club right now,” the Broncos head coach said. “It’s way too early.” He was right. The fates of J.K. Dobbins, RJ Harvey, Jaleel McLaughlin, Audric Estime and many others still had months to play out. This is the same head coach who touts the 2007 story of his New Orleans Saints drafting running back Antonio Pittman in the fourth round — and then cutting him for the undrafted Pierre Thomas, who eventually became a Saint staple.…

By LARRY NEUMEISTER NEW YORK (AP) — A Justice Department request to unseal grand jury transcripts in the prosecution of chronic sexual abuser Jeffrey Epstein and his former girlfriend is unlikely to produce much, if anything, to satisfy the public’s appetite for new revelations about the financier’s crimes, former federal prosecutors say. Attorney Sarah Krissoff, an assistant U.S. attorney in Manhattan from from 2008 to 2021, called the request in the prosecutions of Epstein and imprisoned British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell “a distraction.” “ The president is trying to present himself as if he’s doing something here and it really is…
