The number of people killed in motorcycle crashes has increased nearly 60% in since 2015 and roughly half of all fatal crashes involve someone not wearing a helmet, according to state data. Darrell Lingk, director of CDOT’s Office of…

By LINDSAY WHITEHURST, Associated Press WASHINGTON (AP) — The Trump administration asked the Supreme Court on Friday to clear the way for Elon Musk ’s Department of Government Efficiency to access Social Security systems containing personal data on millions of Americans. The emergency appeal comes after a judge in Maryland restricted the team’s access under federal privacy laws. Social Security holds personal records on nearly everyone in the country, including school records, bank details, salary information and medical and mental health records for disability recipients, according to court documents. The government says the DOGE team needs access to target waste…

Mikko Rantanen made history by wristing home a goal through the five-hole, and was greeted with a chorus of boos from Ball Arena. With that goal in the second period of Game 6 on Thursday, Rantanen and fellow Stars standout Roope Hintz became the first two teammates in NHL history to record four points apiece in a single period in a Stanley Cup Playoffs series. As for the boos from the fans who cheered for Rantanen for a decade in Colorado? “I didn’t really hear them,” Rantanen said. The Finnish forward caught fire in a back-and-forth Game 6, but his…

Three quick takeaways from Nuggets’ 111-105 loss to Clippers in Game 6. Stomach turning: There is nothing funny about turnovers and Joker fading into the background. The Nuggets spoiled a terrific opening punch with sloppy play to open the second quarter. They committed five turnovers in the first four minutes as the Clippers used a smaller lineup, leaning heavily on Nicolas Batum instead of relying on Ben Simmons, a ghost in a uniform. DeAndre Jordan looked lost, forcing Nikola Jokic back into the game. It made sense to keep the Clippers within reach. But interim coach David Adelman and the…

INGLEWOOD, Calif. — David Adelman needed to make a point before Game 7. But he also knows Nikola Jokic might need to help himself more than he did in Game 6 if that point doesn’t get across. “Nikola gets fouled a lot,” Denver’s interim coach said after a 111-105 loss to the Clippers on Thursday. “I’m not sure what was happening tonight, but for him to shoot two free throws with the amount of contact that was going on out there was absolutely crazy.” The Nuggets are hosting a winner-take-all game Saturday in part because Jokic’s second half of Game…
