The frenzy began before Day 3 had even concluded, George Paton and Sean Payton’s post-draft maneuverings well-known for years as a major roster-building tool. And after the Broncos took their crystal in Jahdae Barron on Day 1, went skill-heavy Day 2 and upside-heavy Day 3, they targeted a slew of positions to fill out their roster with potential impact names who’d fallen through 257 picks in Green Bay. The Denver Post has confirmed 11 undrafted free agents, via sources or public announcements, who’ve agreed to terms with the Broncos as of Saturday night. Here’s a breakdown of the new faces.…
Someone should probably start on the movie script at this point. Colorado Avalanche captain Gabe Landeskog scored his first goal in nearly three years and added an assist, punctuating a dominant performance in a 4-0 win Saturday night against the Dallas Stars at Ball Arena in Game 4 of this 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs opening-round series. “There is only one Gabe Landeskog in the world,” Avs star Nathan MacKinnon said. “That kind of person and player. We missed him. There was a big hole in our room for three years. It’s nice to have him back and it means the…
Brock Nelson is enjoying the ride in Avalanche burgundy and blue. But he’s already tired of feeling like a passenger over the first week of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. “Trust me, I believe (the puck is) going to go in,” the Avalanche’s second-line center said before Saturday night’s Game 4 of Colorado’s series with the Dallas Stars. “And that (next one) would be a timely one.” No kidding. Avs coach Jared Bednar has had to weather a handful of little frustrations through the first three games with the Stars, but the two that keep recurring are scoring from his top…
The Post’s sports staff weighs in with grades on the Denver Broncos’ 2025 NFL draft. Parker Gabriel, Broncos beat writer Grade: B- Yes, it’s a bit silly to grade a draft right after it ends. The real tale of the tape starts to unfold in the fall, but teams really want three years to evaluate a class. The Broncos get dinged a bit for not landing a tight end until No. 241 overall, though at some point there’s only so much a team can control about how the board falls. Points for staying true to the board in the first…
Instant reaction from the Avalanche’s 4-0 win over the Dallas Stars in Game 4 of their first-round Stanley Cup Playoffs series. 1. Lan-dy! Lan-dy! Lan-dy!: What’s better than watching the captain return to the ice for the first time in three years? Watching Gabe Landeskog find the back of the net for the first time since June 20, 2022 — a span of 1,041 days. With 6:50 left in the second period, the Avalanche more or less put the game away when second-line center Brock Nelson zipped up the left side of the ice and found Landy all alone in…
A chain of Mexican restaurants has agreed to pay $3.75 million to settle a class action lawsuit that accused it of underpaying and overworking its employees for seven years. The settlement, which awaits formal approval by a federal judge, requires Los Dos Potrillos to write checks to 1,350 people who worked in its restaurants from 2017 to 2024. The workers will split $2.1 million, with the remainder going to their attorneys and other costs. Payouts, which are based on the employees’ hours worked and salaries, range from $25,677 to $65. “We’re pleased that we got a good settlement for these…
Shedeur Sanders‘ “legendary” football journey is bound for Cleveland. After waiting through two nights and four rounds, the former CU quarterback and record-setting Buffs passer was taken by the Browns on Saturday afternoon with the 144th pick in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL draft. The selection was much later than many predicted, as the 6-foot-2 Texas native had been mocked as a first round pick by countless NFL draft prognosticators — ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. chief among them. Instead, he will be bringing his “Legendary” business brand to the shores of Lake Erie after spending two years in…
The summer before Gunnar Helm’s junior year of high school, Cherry Creek offensive line coach Det Betti stepped back for a moment during a practice and took stock of a rather appalling personnel discrepancy. There were 25 kids, give or take, in Cherry Creek’s wide receiver line. There were about three, in total, in their tight end group. So Betti went over to Helm, standing among a clogged crop of receivers, a bigger kid who had yet to crack varsity. Why don’t you try tight end? “I remember him saying, ‘Well, Coach, I really don’t know how to block anybody,’”…
INGLEWOOD, Calif. — Russell Westbrook won’t play in Game 4 of the Nuggets’ first round playoff series against the Clippers on Saturday. Denver’s sixth man didn’t play in the second half of Game 3 due to foot inflammation. He was questionable going into Saturday’s game and went through a pregame routine before being ruled out. Westbrook’s absence likely means more minutes for Jalen Pickett, another backup point guard who has been Adelman’s eighth man in the playoff rotation. Adelman said before opening tip that Denver went through a variety of scenarios for its Game 4 rotation. Michael Porter Jr. was…
CU Buffs quarterbacks in NFL draft Shedeur Sanders may have slid in the NFL draft relative to expectations — including those of his father, Deion Sanders — but he finally found a home on Saturday. With the Cleveland Browns taking Shedeur 144th in the fifth round of the NFL draft, he become the second-earliest drafted quarterback in program history — three rounds behind Kordell Stewart in 1995. Now, the question is whether or not Shedeur will also become CU’s most successful NFL quarterback. Stewart set the bar with his 11-year career. Here’s a look at each Buffs QB taken in the…
