By JULIA FRANKEL and SAMY MAGDY, Associated Press JERUSALEM (AP) — The Palestinian death toll in the Israel-Hamas war passed 65,000 on Wednesday, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry, as Israeli troops and tanks pushed deeper into Gaza City and residents fled the devastated area. Israel’s military said that air force and artillery units had struck the city over 150 times in the last few days, ahead of ground troops moving in. The strikes have toppled high-rise towers in areas densely populated by tent camps where thousands of Palestinians are sheltering. Israel claims the towers are being used by Hamas to surveil troops.…

NEW YORK (AP) — For decades, Publishers Clearing House doled out hefty checks on the doorsteps of hopeful consumers across the U.S., including prizes that boasted lifetime payouts. But some of those winners are now facing an end to the “forever” money they were once promised. The turmoil arrives amid PCH’s ongoing bankruptcy process. The sweepstakes and marketing company filed for Chapter 11 in April, citing growing financial strain that spanned from rising operational costs and changes in consumer behavior. In July, gaming platform ARB Interactive purchased certain assets from PCH for $7.1 million and established “PCH Digital,” a new…

Tanner Gordon was not on a lot of bingo cards to be the Rockies’ best starting pitcher at the end of the 2025 season. But here he is, working with poise, efficiency, confidence and a killer changeup. Not to mention a bit of bravado. “The No. 1 thing I’ve been impressed with is his ability to pitch inside and not be scared to do it,” interim manager Warren Schaeffer said Tuesday before the Rockies hosted the Marlins at Coors Field. “His stuff plays off of that.” The 27-year-old Gordon, slated to pitch Thursday against Miami, doesn’t have impressive raw numbers…
