Eastbound Interstate 70 reopened Tuesday near Georgetown after a crash involving at least nine cars, according to Colorado State Patrol.

The interstate closed between Exit 203 for Colorado 9 near Silverthorne and Exit 232 for U.S. 40 and Empire Junction after a crash on the hill descending into Georgetown at 12:45 p.m., according to the state patrol. The highway reopened as of 4 p.m.

State patrol officials said one of the nine cars involved in the crash was a semitrailer that was hauling cars. The cars on the trailer were not included in the crash count.

Multiple people were taken to hospitals with minor injuries, but the exact number was not available Tuesday afternoon, state patrol officials said. All of the crash victims are expected to survive.
