A driver fleeing the scene of a hit-and-run crash pushed a second vehicle into an RTD bus in Aurora, critically injuring that vehicle’s driver, Aurora police said on X.

The second crash happened on South Parker Road just east of Interstate 225, Aurora police reported at 4:10 p.m.

The driver was fleeing the hit-and-run and crashed into the second vehicle, pushing it into an RTD bus’ path at an intersection.

The second vehicle’s driver was taken to a hospital in critical condition, but police said they expected that person to survive.

Some bus passengers also were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

The suspected hit-and-run driver sustained serious injuries, but police said they were not life-threatening.

The other driver involved in the initial hit-and-run was not injured.

Police said Parker Road would be closed for a short time in the area.
