Fans of Australian dance-pop goddess Kylie Minogue are losing the second-to-last show on her Tension Tour — and her first-ever Denver concert — due to a basketball conflict.
Minogue’s Tuesday, April 29, concert at Ball Arena has been scuttled in favor of the Denver Nuggets game against the L.A. Clippers. The Minogue concert, scheduled for 8 p.m., is making way for Game 5 of this year’s NBA playoffs, which starts at 7:30 p.m.
Ticketmaster has updated the page for the show with the cancellation notice.
“Unfortunately, the Event Organizer has had to cancel your event,” Ball Arena posted on its website. “You don’t need to do a thing. We’ll issue a refund to the original method of payment used at time of purchase, as soon as funds are received from the Event Organizer. It should appear on your account within 14-21 days.”
Minogue — who has gained new fans lately due to her campy appearance on the Netflix cozy-mystery series “The Residence” — first announced the cancellation in social media posts on April 23 with an earnest message to supporters, and a friendly nod toward the team.
“Hi, Lovers. I’m so sorry that we’re not able to visit Denver on the Tension Tour due to a scheduling conflict with the NBA playoffs,” she wrote. “I was really looking forward to performing in Colorado for the first time!! Sending my best to the Denver Nuggets for their hometown games, and I really hope to visit you all in Denver soon. Love Kylie.”
No rescheduled date has been announced.
