Denver Post Broncos beat reporters Parker Gabriel and Luca Evans break down Denver’s second straight walk-off loss, a 23-20 crusher at the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday. What should be made of the way quarterback Bo Nix played? How much does head coach Sean Payton need to think about adjusting offensively? And Denver’s pass-rush is back in full gear, but the defense still has its own issues to iron out. Back-to-back last-second losses are obviously tough for players and coaches to swallow, but do they say more about the problems Denver has or more about the possibilities going forward? All…
FORT COLLINS — CSU ranks 99th nationally in passing (197.3 yards per game) and No. 1 in throwing stuff against the wall. Are the Rams a power run team? An Air Raid team? Pro style? Spread? Multiple? All of the above? None of the above? Jay Norvell, the head coach, needs to re-assign Jay Norvell, the offensive coordinator, before it’s too late. Close games are turning chaotic at Canvas Stadium — only not in a good way. The Rams are tied for 127th out of 136 FBS programs in penalties per game (8.7) and 121st in penalty yards (76.3). You…
By LUIS ANDRES HENAO The Rapture is near — at least according to an apocalyptic prophecy by one South African man who says it will fall on Sept. 23 or 24. His claim has gone viral, with some believing it will mark the end times and many more mocking it on social media. “There are millions and millions of Christians in the world today, maybe even hundreds of millions of Christians in the world who believe in modern prophecy and consume media that’s populated by these modern prophecies,” said Matthew Taylor, a senior Christian scholar at the Institute for Islamic-Christian-Jewish…
After losing a similar case in Boulder last year, Airbnb is now suing the state of Colorado and asking a judge to determine that it does not owe $10.5 million in unpaid taxes. “Airbnb contests all amounts claimed due, including all taxes assessed and any new interest or penalties that may be added to such taxes,” the California company wrote last week. Airbnb rental costs are itemized. There are charges set by hosts, such as the nightly rate and cleaning fees, and the charge set by Airbnb, which is called a guest or service fee. Airbnb collects and pays taxes…
On Monday, it was announced that less than a week after “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” was indefinitely suspended by ABC, the network has agreed to bring the show back, beginning Tuesday, Sept. 23. Naturally, politicians and celebrities are hopping on social media (and even late night shows) to weigh in on the turn of events. “It’s always nice to start the show with some good news,” Stephen Colbert began his monologue on “The Late Show” Monday night. “Well, just a few hours before we taped this broadcast, we got word that our long national late night-mare is over, because Disney announced that…
A box truck caught fire Monday evening as it was exiting Interstate 70 on the ramp to eastbound C-470, forcing closures of two highway ramps near Golden and causing headaches for rush-hour commuters. The Clear Creek Sheriff’s Office reported at 5:15 p.m. that the driver of the box truck managed to escape the vehicle. The Colorado park ranger who agency officials say stabbed himself in an “elaborate hoax” last month previously washed out of police training after a multitude of poor evaluations, including on his ability to accept feedback and interact with the public. Callum Heskett, 26, resigned in July 2024 when faced with termination from the Lafayette Police Department after only a month of training, a fraction of the required time, according to employment records. During his brief stint at the police department, Heskett received low scores in nearly 90% of the training evaluation categories, his released personnel file shows. Heskett failed to…
Can we really call Bo Nix’s feet “happy” when they make Broncos Country so miserable? If I’m Sean Payton, the first thing I’m doing with Nix is sitting the quarterback down in my office. The second thing is popping open my laptop. The third is showing Nix a clip of the last 45 seconds from the first half of Broncos-Chargers this past Sunday. The fourth is congratulating the kid for finding Courtland Sutton over the top for a sumptuous 52-yard score on fourth-and-2. The fifth is asking Nix to lean in closer to the laptop. To take a long, careful…
By ALI SWENSON and AMANDA SEITZ WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump on Monday used the platform of the presidency to promote unproven and in some cases discredited ties between Tylenol, vaccines and autism as his administration announced a wide-ranging effort to study the causes of the complex brain disorder. “Don’t take Tylenol,” Trump instructed pregnant women around a dozen times during the unwieldy White House news conference, also urging mothers not to give their infants the drug, known by the generic name acetaminophen. He also fueled long-debunked claims that ingredients in vaccines or timing shots close together could contribute to rising rates…
It’s getting harder to temper expectations about the return of Gabe Landeskog. The Colorado Avalanche captain completed his first exhibition game in four seasons Sunday night. He looked, well, a whole lot like the guy from four years ago, before a series of issues with his right knee took away three full regular seasons. “I thought he was great,” Bednar said. Bednar’s response was concise, but hard to argue with. It was also a familiar refrain. What did the Avs coach think of his captain through the first two days of training camp, before giving him the third day off…
