Denver police are investigating a shooting early Saturday in Denver’s Green Valley Ranch area that left one person dead. The shooting occurred at around 1:30 a.m. in the 18000 block of East 50th Place, said police spokeswoman Teresa Gessner. Police didn’t have details about the person who was killed. They said they are developing information about the suspect. This is a developing story.      source

A jury has awarded $205 million to the family of a young girl who died on a ride at a Glenwood Springs amusement park in 2021. The verdict issued Friday was in a lawsuit in the death of 6-year-old Wongel Estifanos, who died at the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park on Labor Day weekend. Wongel was at the park with her family from Colorado Springs and on a ride called the Haunted Mine Drop. Evergreen High School staff and students will start a gradual return to work and classes beginning Monday, more than a week after a shooting at the school. A single-engine plane crash near Centennial Airport earlier this month that killed the two people on board had its engine stop before the incident, according to a preliminary report. The early morning plane ride on Sept. 5 was an instructional flight, according to the report from the National Transportation Safety Board. The pilot receiving instruction planned to purchase a similar airplane to the Beech P35 plane they were flying. Perry “Matt” Feeney, 52, of Arvada and Lee “Rob” Hill, 64, of Greenwood Village were the pilot and passenger of the plane. The report does not specify who was receiving instruction.…

CONEJOS COUNTY, Colo. — Two missing elk hunters found dead this week in southern Colorado had no visible injuries or initial signs of foul play, the Conejos County coroner told Denver7 Friday.
