By JOSH BOAK and RAJESH ROY, Associated Press WASHINGTON (AP) — The United States will impose a 25% tariff on goods from India, plus an additional import tax because of India’s purchasing of Russian oil, President Donald Trump said Wednesday. India “is our friend,” Trump said on his Truth Social platform, but its tariffs on U.S. products “are far too high.” The Republican president added India buys military equipment and oil from Russia, enabling Moscow’s war in Ukraine. As a result, he intends to charge an additional “penalty” starting on Friday as part of the launch of his administration’s revised tariffs on multiple…

Tourists continued to funnel billions of dollars into the Colorado’s economy last year, but new data released Tuesday shows a mixed bag for tourism’s impact in 2024 and the first half of 2025. Tourism contributed $28.5 billion to the state’s economy and supported 188,510 jobs across the state in 2024, both of which are relatively flat compared to 2023, according to numbers released by the Colorado Tourism Office. While the annual research from Dean Runyan Associates and Longwoods International Travel USA shows tourism is still a big economic driver, “…indicators suggest that increasing competition and uncertainty related to federal policy…

At the Fleischer Family Farm in Lakewood, fresh eggs are among the fastest sellers at the Saturday market. The eggs simply taste better compared to ones that are factory-farmed, according to Paul Fleischer, who runs the business with his wife, Chelsie. The eggs are more flavorful, the yolks are a deeper yellow, and many who have made the switch to pasture-raised notice the fluffier texture of the eggs when they’re cooked. “There’s also some sort of inherently positive feeling that you get from supporting a local farmer or even raising them on your own,” Fleischer said. Egg lovers may have…

On the back of each bag of coffee lining the wall at the Whittier Cafe is a message: “Our coffee isn’t just about the perfect cup — it’s about a connection to something deeper.” It goes on to describe the shop’s commitment to sustainable farming, the coffee’s sourcing from Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda, and finally declares the cafe’s mission, social justice. Owner and operator Millete Birhanemaskel was born in Tigray, the northernmost state in Ethiopia, and moved to Colorado during her childhood. “Where I come from is where coffee was first discovered,” she said. But from 2000 to 2002, Tigray,…

For several months, Colorado head football coach Deion Sanders has tried to get former NFL quarterback Byron Leftwich to join the Buffaloes’ staff. That move is now apparently in the works. Sanders introduced Leftwich at a team meeting Tuesday, per a video posted on YouTube by Thee Pregame Network. Although the hire is not official, a BuffZone source confirmed that Leftwich will be joining the staff in some capacity. It’s unknown what his title will be with the Buffs, but it’s likely he will help mentor the quarterbacks. Jordan Schultz of Fox reported in March that Leftwich, 45, would be…

Summer break is here, which means school is out, no more homework, and it’s time to have fun. The lack of routine and scheduled activities, however, may pose a serious risk for children who fill that void with gaming. “Breaks like summer vacation, holidays, or spring break can be particularly risky times for kids when it comes to developing or worsening video game addiction because they often bring a sudden lack of structure in a child’s day because they don’t have school or after-school activities,” explained Seth A. Katz, Shareholder at Burg Simpson Eldredge Hersh & Jardine. Burg Simpson has…

Courtland Sutton reads a room even better than he reads a defense. “It wasn’t about me,” the Broncos’ veteran receiver told me after practice Tuesday at Broncos Park Powered by CommonSpirit. “At the end of the day, yes, we work in a business of compensation. “(There’s) talent in that locker room, guys that are coming up, that are trying to get their second contract. I was blessed to be able to get my third. They put the work in just the same way as I have. And some of those guys have more accolades than I have when it comes…

Colorado’s Desiree Wooten takes a shot during women’s basketball practice July 16 in Boulder. (Cliff Grassmick/Staff Photographer) Not long after Desiree Wooten arrived on the Colorado campus this summer, she began to hear about Jaylyn Sherrod. A former CU women’s basketball star now with the WNBA’s New York Liberty, Sherrod was a small, fast point guard who was a bulldog on defense in leading the Buffs to back-to-back Sweet 16s in 2023 and 2024. It’s way too early to put that expectation on Wooten, but the transfer from North Texas is displaying some of the same traits as the former…
