Dear Eric: I am a 55-year-old single female. I often get asked out on dates with men that I am not interested in. I recently met a man, and we have been going on great dates. I really enjoyed hanging out with him until his sister-in-law came to me and said things like, “don’t like him; don’t catch feelings for him. Just have fun with him and get what you can from him.” I still like hanging out with him. Should I tell him what she said? Or just keep it to myself and just keep my guard up? —…

A 30-person brawl erupted just after midnight Sunday just east of the Greeley Stampede grounds, police said. No deaths or severe injuries were reported in the fight, which Greeley Police Cmdr. Mike Heck called the most severe he’s seen in his near-decade overseeing police operations at the Stampede. The Stampede was still open when the fight broke out, but Heck said nobody was in the area who wasn’t involved in the brawl. Ten Greeley officers on patrol at the Stampede arrived just after the fight started, and police say most of the crowd dispersed when the initial officers arrived. Several…
Negotiations between United Food and Commercial Workers Local 7 and Safeway’s parent company, Albertsons, stalled over the weekend, deepening a strike that has stretched beyond two weeks. At the same time, the union prepares for talks with King Soopers and City Market starting Tuesday. “Despite the union’s good faith attempt to reach an agreement, the company chose to walk away from negotiations – choosing to continue the strike rather than negotiating a new contract,” read a June 28 social media post by UFCW Local 7. The post further stated, “Safeway is still holding hands with King Soopers and letting King…

Barry Morphew, who has been indicted a second time in his wife’s death, is in custody in Alamosa County Jail, officials confirmed Monday. The 57-year-old faces charges of first-degree murder. He is scheduled for an advisement hearing on Tuesday afternoon. He was initially charged with his wife’s murder in 2021, but that case was dropped in 2022 because prosecutors mishandled the case and were sanctioned for discovery violations.
