It was only a month ago when Colorado and Arizona State collided in Tempe. In what has evolved into a recurring theme for the CU men’s basketball team, the Buffaloes played that game without Cody Williams and Julian Hammond III, while Tristan da Silva made his first appearance following a three-game injury absence. The Buffs had hoped da Silva’s return would spark a bounce-back performance in the wake of a drubbing suffered at Arizona two days earlier, but instead porous first-half defense led to a three-point loss for CU. CU hasn’t exactly floundered since then but, in large part due…

On Thursday, the justices will hear arguments in Trump’s appeal of a Colorado Supreme Court ruling that he is not eligible to run again for president because he violated a provision in the 14th Amendment preventing those who “engaged in insurrection” from holding office. Many legal observers expect the nation’s highest court will reverse the Colorado ruling rather than remove the leading contender for the Republican presidential nomination from…

NEWARK, N.J. — The Colorado Avalanche was one of the hottest teams in the NHL before an extended break in conjunction with the All-Star game. The Avs don’t look quite the same on the other side of it. John Marino scored with 2:17 left in regulation to help the New Jersey Devils turn back a spirited comeback attempt Tuesday night by the Avalanche in a 5-3 win at Prudential Center. It was the first back-to-back losses for Colorado since Dec. 7 and 9 — a span of nearly two months. Just like the night before across the Hudson River in…

It’s with great dismay that we read the Colorado Republican Party leadership’s recent call to all Colorado Republicans to support disgraced former Mesa County Clerk Tina Peters. As current and former Republican election officials in Colorado, your decision to support an individual who has actively worked to undermine our elections statewide is a slap in the face and an affront to each of us who have worked to become experts in election administration and to build and sustain secure elections in Colorado over many decades. Tina Peters now faces criminal charges in Mesa County in an upcoming trial. She is…
